Concrete Slab

To prepare a concrete slab, we mechanically diamond grind the surface to achieve the correct CSP profile for optimal adhesion. This process removes contaminants, opens the pores of the concrete, and creates a uniform texture for the coating system. After grinding, we patch imperfections such as cracks, spalls, or divots to ensure a smooth and stable foundation before applying the epoxy system.

Wood Subfloors

In certain installations—especially interior residential floors—we apply epoxy over wood. We begin by sanding the surface and thoroughly removing all dust and debris. A specialized seal coat is then applied to prevent the wood from releasing air or moisture into the epoxy system. Once sealed, the remaining layers of the floor are installed just like a standard epoxy system. 

Base Coat

100% solids Epoxy or Polyurea 


Epoxy is almost always the superior choice for a base coat. Its ability to deeply penetrate the concrete creates an exceptionally strong bond, and its thicker build helps smooth out surface imperfections. Epoxy also handles moisture more effectively and its longer working time makes full‑coverage flake broadcasts clean and consistent.


A polyurea base coat has its place, but only in specific conditions. Its rapid cure makes it ideal for cold‑weather installs, moisture‑challenged slabs, or true one‑day systems. Polyurea’s flexibility also makes it a better fit for concrete that experiences movement or thermal cycling.



System Build

Flake/Quartz System 


The flakes are applied directly into the wet basecoat to create a mechanical bond. For maximum durability, a full broadcast is typically used, meaning the flakes are spread until the entire surface is completely covered. Once the basecoat cures, the excess flakes are scraped to level the surface and then vacuumed away.


Metallic/Solid Color System 


These systems use pigmented epoxy applied over a cured base coat to create their final look. A solid‑color system uses a single uniform pigment to produce a clean, consistent appearance across the entire floor. A metallic system blends multiple pigments and uses intentional movement and manipulation during application to create unique patterns, depth, and one‑of‑a‑kind visual effects.

Top Coat

 Polyaspartic or polyurethane 


Polyaspartic is the preferred topcoat for most garage floors and outdoor installations. Its exceptional UV resistance prevents yellowing even under direct sunlight, and it delivers a high‑gloss, crystal‑clear finish with outstanding abrasion resistance, making it ideal for high‑traffic residential and commercial spaces.


Polyurethane is better suited for demanding industrial environments. Its superior chemical resistance and impact tolerance make it the top choice for chemical plants, warehouses, industrial floors, or any area exposed to heavy equipment, vibration, or slab movement. Polyurethane stands up to harsh spills and physical abuse where a more flexible, resilient top coat is needed.
